Liz & Mike Payne

Mike & I were born in Guernsey and Lancashire respectively, and have spent most of our lives living and working abroad.

Our first adventure with our two young daughters, Rachael and Anna-Frevisse, began in 1972 when we moved to Canada. We stayed there for twelve happy years working in theatre and television returning to the UK with two teenagers with mid Atlantic accents. We lived in Cardiff and I had a fun job with the Prince of Wales' Committee and Mike became Editor of BBC's "Wales Today".

In 1991, just at the moment of the Yeltsin coup, Mike was appointed Moscow Bureau Chief for Reuters Television. It was a time of great excitement, adventure and trauma with never a dull moment during the four years when we lived there.

Quite a contrasting two years followed in the security and tranquil setting of Geneva, again with Reuters. Too quiet for us but quite fortuitous as it was from there that we sought out and found our property in Provence.

Originally just travelling down for weekends and holidays, we were able to grab a chance at early retirement in 1999 when we moved to France permanently and embraced our new passion - building restoration.

Over the last four years, Domaine de Tranzy has arisen from the decay and dust of the last 300 years and is regaining its original splendour.

We love it here and are delighted to say that everyone who has stayed with us to date has been ecstatic about the property and the area. Most of our guests have already returned for a second year! I don't think anyone could wish for a better life and we invite you to be part of it.
